As we transition to Autumn, the stable increasingly evokes a comforting ambiance that is created from distinct moments.
A few of my favourite memories from the barn include placing a cold hand between a freshly laundered wool cooler and a horse's warm body... The sweet aroma when feeding freshly harvested Northwest apples...Cool rides in Nature's colour palette of filtered golden light.
This fall, more than ever, we are craving familiarity in our lives. Incorporating personal sensory experiences from the stable into our homes can help create this cozy ambiance.
Fragrances create emotional links with memories. In the fall, I begin each morning by lighting a spiced apple cider candle. I started this daily ritual after visiting an exquisite Southern hotel that burned Gardenia candles throughout the day.
Lower light has been shown to steady emotions. As the days become shorter, I use lamps with vintage Edison light bulbs and/or natural linen shades to create a warm ambiance that creates a calming influence throughout the home.

Each generation often faces obstacles relating to other age groups, partially because of a focus on their differences rather than their similarities.
This week niche equestrian apparel company, TKEQ, launched a new line titled "generationEQ" as part of its latest collection. GenerationEQ represents a unification of individuals across all ages to create a culture that is connected by the importance of horsemanship and an authentic love for the horse.
